The Warren United Church of Christ, an Open and Affirming congregation, strives to live our mission in everything that we do. We seek, in many ways, to be a light on a hill - for this community and beyond - affirming that God is still speaking, and working through our lives in mysterious and wondrous ways.
A classic New England country Church, our white clapboard meeting house dates from 1839 and is home to a remarkably energetic and diverse community of faith. We invite you to join us in worship, community and service and experience for yourself what we are about.
"No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here."
Another successful "Service Sunday" on 5/21/17! Check out some highlights below...
Meet Our Interim Pastor: Kurt Shaffert (office hours Friday 10-3)
Kurt grew up in our state and has a real heart for small Vermont churches. When he was about 12 years old and active in the Castleton UCC, he remembers thinking in regard to small-church life: "Something happens here that doesn't happen anywhere else...and I want to be a part of it." And a part of it he still is, now ordained and trained both as an interim pastor and as a chaplain. He has passions for CPE (clinical pastoral education) as well as cartooning, which he uses as a therapeutic tool with veterans to help address and treat PTSD. Kurt spent some interim time in the Granville-Hancock Church and, later, the Waitsfield UCC. His latest assignment has been in the Williston Federated Church
*Kurt has openings to meet personally with members and friends of the church. Email him: firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a time.
